Chamber Affiliate NewsThe Pennsylvania Governor’s Conference for Women, co-hosted by Governor Edward G. Rendell and the Pennsylvania Commission for Women, announced today that the fifth annual Conference will be held on October 2, 2008 at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center in Pittsburgh. The one-day, non-partisan Conference is the premiere education and networking event for the women of Pennsylvania; in 2005, the Conference sold out in Pittsburgh with more than 5,000 attendees. Online registration with a special “early bird” discount rate of $115 is currently available via the Conference Web site, www.pagovernorsconferenceforwomen.org.

This year’s Conference will feature more than 75 speakers leading seminars on the issues that matter most to women, such as health, personal finance, business and entrepreneurship, and more. Women will also have the opportunity to participate in workshops on communication skills, leadership strategies and work/life balance tools.

“Women invest so much of themselves into their families, careers and communities,” said Governor Rendell. “The Pennsylvania Governor’s Conference for Women provides the resources, opportunities and inspiration that empowers them to thrive in their personal and professional lives.”
